I'm an Honors English and Mass Communications May 2020 graduate of Ouachita Baptist University.
Through my education and hands-on experience, I have expanded, developed, and honed my skill-set and am always looking for new opportunities to continue doing so.
​
I am extremely passionate about finding, creating, and sharing stories that can connect and relate to others, bringing people together. I am also passionate about my enthusiasm for the power literature can have and the impact good reading and writing skills can have on a life.
​
I am completely open to my future career, however, in whatever I do, I want to incorporate my passions and skills to help businesses discover how to relate more directly to their customers.

For the past four years, I have pursued a bachelor's degree in English and Mass Communications with an emphasis in strategic communications at Ouachita Baptist University.

Speer Writing Center Consultant

News Bureau Writer
August 2019- March 2020
Worked with students to not only provide consultation on the work they brought in but to improve their overall writing as well. Worked with Zoom and other technologies to work during the pandemic.
Carefully crafts a variety of press releases and blog posts for Ouachita’s News Bureau, utilizing communication, interviewing, and writing skills. Was promoted from practicum student to work-study writer: applied for and earned position to work in the office three to four times a week. Also helped to transfer stories to the new website update.
Communications Intern
June-July 2020
Worked closely under the Marketing Manager, crafted articles and edited the newsletter, helped with marketing for a special event, and grew communication skills.
Yearbook Copy Editor and Staff Writer
August 2017- May 2019
Edited writing staff’s articles under deadlines; followed AP style closely while also making stylistic choices. Secured and prepared for interviews in time to transcribe and write intriguing stories under deadlines.
